This year is Miss Gerling's third here at McKinley Middle, and she is loving being a part of the Mustang family! She graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans in 2021 with a bachelor's in Music Education with an emphasis on classical voice. She has been singing for 14 years; and has performed in various choirs, musical theater productions, and operas throughout her career. In Spring 2023, Miss Gerling was awarded the "New Teacher of the Year" award in the district as a part of the Mentoring Matters program; and in December 2023 she was the EBR Music Teacher of the Month. Her goal as an educator is to share her love of music and singing with her students.
